About the Chamber
The West Shores Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
made up of dues paying members and is governed by a seven member
Board of Directors, whose mission is to promote economic interests
as it relates to its members and the community at large. The Chamber
functions as a liason between the business community and its residents,
seeking a symbiotic relationship between the two that will not only
provide businesses an avenue to display their products, but also
to grow their businesses and create a beneficial impact on the community.
The West Shores Chamber of Commerce has embarked on an ambitious
agenda which will seek the creation of a "community council"
for the West Shores, giving the residents more local control over
those issues they feel are most important for a better quality of
life for themselves and their families. The Chamber will also sponsor
a series of "guest speakers" that will be invited to Chamber
meetings providing its members and the community at large the opportunity
to have a meaningful dialog with our "guests", fully expressing
their views and ideas for future development of the West Shores
and Salton Sea.
Furthermore, the Chamber will explore those opportunities that
will provide its members with meaningful experiences and bring a
spirit of community involvement to those wishing to participate.
The West Shores Chamber of Commerce will also seek participation
from its members in the form of selected committees. Each with a
specific task in improving the Chambers's ability to undertand and
better serve the needs of its members and community.
The impact the Chamber has on its members and the general community
will be directly proportional to the amount of participation from
the aforementioned. The changes to this region are inevitatable,
with cooperation, participation, and a steady hand, the journey
can be one of excitement and success laying the groundwork for following
generations to build upon.
